The complex became an ingrained fixture of the local landscape, with downtown workers routinely timing their days by the brewery's steam whistles. After thriving as an independent regional powerhouse through the postwar era, the brewery eventually transitioned through corporate acquisitions before closing its Phoenix doors in the mid-1980s.
