Ace Hi Premium Beer Tab Top

The Ace Hi Premium Beer 12 oz tab top can is a notable piece of mid-century Chicago breweriana, produced under the Ace Brewing Company name in Chicago, Illinois. Ace Brewing operated as one of several corporate aliases utilized by the Canadian Ace Brewing Company—a facility with deep historical roots originally established as Manhattan Brewing Company before evolving into one of the city's major post-repeal operations.

Design and Collectibility

The can't graphic design centers on the card-inspired "Ace Hi" moniker, utilizing bold mid-century typography and ace iconography to catch consumer attention on store shelves. Canadian Ace frequently distributed products under different subsidiary names to expand shelf presence throughout the Midwest, making the Ace moniker a recognized regional label.

Collectors recognize variations within this label run, including subtle differences in the mandatory legal text, plant markings, and paint finish applications ranging from enamel to metallic sheens. The brand represents the competitive, fast-evolving era of Chicago's mid-century brewing landscape.
