Ace High Premium Beer Pint Can

Ace High Premium Beer Pint Can

The Ace High Premium Beer Pint Can is a notable artifact of Chicago's mid-century brewing scene, issued under the Ace Brewing Company trade alias by the Canadian Ace Brewing Company. Hailing from Chicago's South Side, this 16-ounce container reflects an era when regional brewers diversified packaging sizes and utilized alternating corporate aliases to expand retail presence.

Brewery Heritage and Mob Ties

The history behind the can connects directly to one of the most storied chapters in American brewing history. Canadian Ace operated out of the brewing facility originally established by Manhattan Brewing Company. During Prohibition and the years following repeal, the brewery held well-documented ties to prominent organized crime figures, including Johnny Torrio and associates connected to the Chicago Outfit. Following corporate restructuring and rebranding as Canadian Ace to move past earlier associations, the brewery routinely utilized trade names like Ace Brewing Company to market distinct product lines across regional markets.

Can Features and Variations

Designed in a full 16-ounce pint format, the can features bold, mid-century lettering and ace-themed motif graphics tailored for consumers seeking larger single-serving options.

Among breweriana collectors, the pint format is especially sought after. Variations across production runs exist, featuring differences such as metallic versus enamel paint finishes, as well as subtle modifications in the mandatory brewery statement and address text. Pint cans bearing the specific Ace Brewing alias remain a prized focal point for regional can collectors exploring the history of Chicago packaging.
