Adler Brau Appleton Beer 12 Oz Zip Top Can

Adler Brau Appleton Zip Top

The Adler Brau Appleton Beer zip top can represents a notable piece of regional breweriana from the George Walter Brewing Company of Appleton, Wisconsin. Founded by German immigrant George Walter, the brewery served the Fox River Valley for generations, establishing Adler Brau as its flagship offering. The German word "Adler" translates to "eagle," which is reflected in the brand's classic heraldic imagery and graphic presentation.

For collectors, this container highlights the brewery's local heritage in Outagamie County, where Walter was an essential pillar of the Appleton community along Lawrence and Walnut streets. Canned examples were produced in partnership with major container manufacturers such as the American Can Company, utilizing period seam construction.

Collectors note variations across production runs, including shifts in background coloring, metallic sheen, and brewery text placement. As an artifact from an era when independent regional breweries dominated the Wisconsin market, the Adler Brau can remains a sought-after staple among Midwestern breweriana specialists.
