All-american Extra Dry Beer Pint Can

Drewrys All-American Pint Can

Produced by Drewrys Ltd. in South Bend, Indiana, the All-American Extra Dry Beer pint can represents a notable entry in mid-century Midwestern brewing. Drewrys, an enterprise with historical Canadian roots, established its core American production operations in northern Indiana following the repeal of Prohibition, eventually expanding into one of the region's largest breweries.

While Drewrys was most widely recognized for its flagship labels featuring the iconic Canadian Mountie emblem, the company introduced secondary and value lines such as All-American Extra Dry to broaden its market presence and compete against large national shipping breweries. Issued in a sixteen-ounce pint format, this can offered consumers an alternative to the standard twelve-ounce package.

The steel can features bold mid-century lettering and lithographed enamel graphics highlighting the "All-American" label alongside the South Bend brewery mandatory markings. Collector documentation notes that variations exist across different production runs, featuring subtle differences in mandatory text layout and manufacturer identification markings. Due to the lower overall production volumes of pint-sized cans relative to standard twelve-ounce issues, this sixteen-ounce South Bend release remains a prized and sought-after piece of Indiana brewing history.
