All Grain Lager Beer Flat Top Can

Omaha's Storz All Grain Lager

The All Grain Lager Beer Flat Top Can represents a notable chapter in the history of the Storz Brewing Company of Omaha, Nebraska. As one of the prominent members of Omaha's historic "Big 4" brewing establishments—alongside Krug, Metz, and Willow Springs—Storz was a dominant regional force, at one point supplying a significant share of the beer consumed throughout the state.

Design and Heritage

The All Grain brand was marketed to emphasize traditional brewing ingredients and agricultural heritage. Its can design highlights clean mid-century typography and graphics that resonated strongly with Midwestern consumers. Storz positioned the brand as a dependable, staple offering during a transformative era when regional breweries fought to maintain shelf space against rapidly expanding national shipping breweries.

Collector Notes and Variations

Among collectors of Great Plains and Midwestern breweriana, the All Grain can is sought after for its distinct aesthetic and historical connection to Omaha's industrial past. Variations of the can are known to exist across production runs, showcasing subtle differences in mandatory brewery text, variations in alcohol statement markings, and different manufacturer stamps from major container suppliers such as the Continental Can Company and the American Can Company.

Following the sale of the Storz family business and the eventual closure of the original Omaha plant, artifacts like the All Grain can remain tangible reminders of Nebraska's classic brewing heritage.
