Alpine Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Alpine Beer Tab Top by Maier

The Alpine Beer 12 oz tab top can is a collectible regional beer container produced by the Maier Brewing Company in Los Angeles, California. Maier was one of Southern California's major independent breweries, operating out of its historic production facility on Commercial Street in downtown Los Angeles.

Design and Aesthetics

The can features an alpine-themed design aesthetic created to evoke mountain scenery, centered around bold typography and crisp contrasting colors. Maier often incorporated the promotional slogan "Refreshing As Mountain Air" alongside stylized mountain crest graphics to market the brand across West Coast distribution channels.

Label Variations

Over the course of its production at the Los Angeles facility, the can experienced minor manufacturing adjustments. Several variations exist across different manufacturing batches, primarily distinguished by small layout revisions in the mandatory brewery text, variations in the brewery's address and postal ZIP code markings, and slight shifts in the metallic finish.

Brewery History

During its operations, Maier Brewing Company was known for producing a vast catalog of house brands and contract labels alongside its flagship lines. Alpine Beer was one of many distinct labels that populated store shelves throughout California and neighboring regions until industry consolidation and corporate acquisitions eventually concluded brewing operations at the Los Angeles plant.
