Alpine Brand Premium Beer Flat Top Can

Alpine Brand Beer Can Overview

The Alpine Brand Premium Beer flat top can was produced by the Peter Fox Brewing Company of Chicago, Illinois. Operating from its historic West Monroe Street facility in Chicago's post-Prohibition era, Peter Fox Brewing distributed Alpine Brand alongside its flagship Fox De Luxe line.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, this twelve-ounce container features the brewery's distinctive "Smooth Light Premium Beer" marketing slogan. The can showcases a clean mid-century graphic layout characterized by bold Alpine typography and crisp contrasting colors that appeal strongly to regional breweriana collectors.

Known variations of the can reflect regional packaging and statutory requirements of the era, with examples documented bearing alcohol statements printed directly on the top lid as well as versions produced without mandatory alcohol statements. These labeling variations illustrate the differing distribution regulations across states where Peter Fox products were shipped.

As an artifact of Chicago's mid-twentieth-century brewing landscape prior to the plant's closure, the Alpine Brand flat top represents an important piece of Midwest industrial and packaging history.
