Aspen Gold Beer Flat Top Can

Tivoli's Aspen Gold Flat Top Can

The Aspen Gold Beer flat top can represents a notable chapter in the history of Denver's historic Tivoli Brewing Company. Tracing its roots back to the Colorado Gold Rush era in Denver's Auraria neighborhood, Tivoli grew into a prominent regional brewing powerhouse in the American West before finally halting operations in the late 1960s.

Regional Branding & Design

During the mid-century era, Tivoli expanded its portfolio with localized labels tailored to resonate with Colorado's burgeoning outdoor and ski tourism. Named after the famous Rocky Mountain mining and resort destination, Aspen Gold featured regional aesthetic motifs, stylized mid-century typography, and metallic coloration complemented by the slogan, "A Great Light Colorado Beer".

Packaging & Collector Notes

Constructed from straight-steel, the container was produced by packaging suppliers including the American Can Company. Among breweriana collectors, the can is recognized as a standout artifact from Tivoli's later packaging era. Variations exist among different production runs, primarily featuring subtle discrepancies in mandatory brewery text and canning seam markings. Because Tivoli closed its historic Denver facility shortly after this label's era, flat top specimens of Aspen Gold remain popular additions to collections focused on Colorado and Western regional breweriana.
