Atlas Prager Boh. Lt. Lager Beer Pint Can

Atlas Prager Chicago Pint Can

The Atlas Prager Boh. Lt. Lager Beer Pint Can represents an important chapter in Midwestern brewing heritage, hailing from the Atlas Brewing Company of Chicago, Illinois. Originally established in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood as the Bohemian Brewing Company before adopting the Atlas moniker, the brewery became one of the city’s major brewing institutions, surviving Prohibition and thriving with its flagship Atlas Prager label.

Designed for the 16-fluid-ounce format, this pint container stands out among Chicago breweriana. The can features the bold Atlas Prager typography accompanied by the "Bohemian Light Lager" designation, complemented by traditional heraldic accents and crisp color blocking. Compared to standard twelve-ounce releases, pint-sized containers were distributed in considerably smaller quantities, making this Chicago pint a prized centerpiece among enthusiasts of mid-century regional packaging.

Collector interest is further heightened by known variations across manufacturing runs, including subtle differences in the mandatory brewery text, rim borders, and the formatting of the 16-ounce fluid volume declaration. Following mid-century industry consolidation and the eventual acquisition of the Atlas facility by Drewrys, original canning operations in Chicago came to an end. Today, this pint can remains a quintessential artifact of Chicago’s industrial and brewing heritage.
