Atlas Prager Bohemian Beer Flat Top Can

Atlas Prager Bohemian by Drewrys

The Atlas Prager Bohemian Beer flat top represents a notable era of mid-century Midwestern brewing consolidation. Originally the flagship label of Chicago's historic Atlas Brewing Company, the Atlas brand was absorbed into the Drewrys Ltd. U.S.A. portfolio when Drewrys acquired the Chicago firm in the early 1950s. Following the acquisition, production of Atlas Prager was shifted to Drewrys' expansive operations headquartered in South Bend, Indiana.

This can features the traditional "Bohemian" branding and heritage Atlas graphics, adapted to bear the South Bend, Indiana mandatory brewery text. By canning the established Atlas Prager label under the South Bend imprint, Drewrys was able to preserve customer loyalty across northern Illinois and neighboring states while utilizing the capacity of its Indiana plant.

For collectors of Great Lakes and Midwestern breweriana, the can stands as a significant artifact of the post-war transition period when major regional brewers acquired legacy urban trademarks. Variations exist across different production runs, featuring subtle differences in mandatory text formatting and side-panel layout.
