Atlas Prager Bohemian Light Lager Beer Flat Top Can

Atlas Prager Bohemian Flat Top

Produced by the Atlas Brewing Company of Chicago, Illinois, this flat top can represents one of the Windy City's most storied brewing institutions. Atlas originally began as the Bohemian Brewing Company in 1891, established by Charles Vopicka, Otto Kubin, and John Kralovec, before being renamed the Atlas Brewing Company in 1896. Operating out of Blue Island Avenue in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, the brewery grew into a prominent regional producer with deep neighborhood roots.

Atlas Prager served as the brewery's premier flagship brand and was heavily featured in popular mid-century advertising, notably under the widely recognized slogan, "Got It? Get It! Atlas Prager Beer". The Bohemian Light Lager can design features classic mid-century presentation, displaying bold branding, balanced color blocking, and the traditional Atlas Prager shield insignia.

For breweriana enthusiasts, this can stands out as an enduring artifact of Chicago's rich commercial history. Atlas embraced canning during the rapid modernization of beer packaging following the repeal of Prohibition. Over the course of the label's run, several variations were produced by container manufacturers, exhibiting subtle differences in mandatory side-panel wording, patent notations, and brewery city designations. Following mid-century brewery consolidations that eventually saw Atlas merge with Schoenhofen-Edelweiss and later acquirements by Drewrys, cans carrying the original Chicago Atlas Prager name remain cornerstone pieces for vintage Midwest beer can collections.
