Ballantine Premium Lager Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Ballantine Cranston 16 Oz Can

The Ballantine Premium Lager Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can represents a notable chapter in breweriana history under the management of the Falstaff Brewing Corporation. Following Falstaff's acquisition of the historic Ballantine brand name, production shifted across Falstaff's brewery network, including the prominent facility in Cranston, Rhode Island.

For collectors of 16-ounce tallboy cans, this release preserves the classic visual identity of the historic label. The face of the can features the famous interlocking Borromean rings insignia—historically representing "Purity, Body, and Flavor"—alongside traditional Ballantine script and bold heraldic banners. The larger pint format provides an expanded display area, giving the graphics and metallic color scheme a distinctive shelf presence.

A primary point of interest for can enthusiasts is the mandatory brewery text along the side panel. Cans originating from the Cranston location typically list the Rhode Island city alongside Falstaff's other major brewing operations, such as Fort Wayne, New Orleans, Omaha, and San Francisco. Known variations exist among these cans, with differences in the arrangement of the city registry, slight tonal shifts in the background ink, and alternate can manufacturer marks.

Representing Falstaff's stewardship of New England brewing heritage, this Cranston-associated Ballantine pint can remains a staple piece for regional specialists and vintage American label collectors alike.
