Banner Extra Dry Premium Beer Flat Top Can

Best Brewing's Banner Extra Dry

The Banner Extra Dry Premium Beer flat top can issued by the Best Brewing Corporation of Chicago, Illinois, represents an intriguing piece of mid-century Midwestern brewing history. Best Brewing Corporation, which operated out of its plant on Fletcher Street in Chicago, packaged a wide selection of proprietary and contract labels, with Banner serving as a prominent offering in their portfolio.

The can features classic mid-century graphic design centered around the bold 'Banner' script and 'Extra Dry Premium Beer' designation. Manufactured using the American Can Company's standard containers, examples typically carry the familiar 'Keglined' oval marking along the side seam.

While the Banner brand was distributed across several regional markets and packaged by different breweries throughout the country, the Chicago mandatory from Best Brewing Corporation is of particular interest to collectors specializing in Illinois breweriana. Across the brand's production, several variations exist in mandatory text placement, canning codes, and lid stampings, making this Chicago flat top an essential centerpiece for enthusiasts assembling comprehensive regional brewery archives.
