Bavarian's Select Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Bavarian's Select Evansville Can

The Bavarian's Select Beer 12 oz tab top can represents a notable chapter in Midwestern brewing history, bearing the historic Bavarian brand name alongside Evansville, Indiana mandatory brewery text.

Historical Context

Originally established in Covington, Kentucky, the Bavarian Brewing Company built a long-standing regional presence across the Ohio River Valley with its flagship labels. Following mid-century industry consolidations and acquisitions by larger brewing networks, production of the Bavarian's Select brand expanded to other brewing facilities, including operations in Evansville, Indiana. Cans bearing the Bavarian imprint with Evansville mandatory text reflect this transitional period of multi-plant brewing and legacy brand distribution.

Design and Collector Interest

The face of the can features traditional Bavarian's Select trade dress, highlighted by bold signature typography, heraldic crest imagery, and decorative banner elements. For collectors focusing on Indiana breweriana, Ohio Valley brewing history, and conglomerate brand lineages, the Evansville mandatory text provides a direct link to the regional movement of legacy beer labels.

Variations of this can exist from different production batches, showing slight differences in can manufacturer stamps, mandatory text alignment, and background color tones.
