Produced by the Jacob Ruppert brewery of New York, New York, this flat top container is widely known among breweriana collectors as the "Propeller" can.

During World War II and the immediate post-war era, American breweries packaged beer specifically for overseas armed forces and export channels. These containers were marked with a Withdrawn Free tax status, which exempted the product from domestic internal revenue taxes because the beer was destined for consumption abroad.

The front panel showcases a bold aeronautical motif, centering on a stylized airplane fuselage topped with a two-blade propeller. The wings form a horizontal band that frames the prominent "BEER" lettering, flanked by "CONTENTS 12 FL. OZS." on the left and "BREWED IN U.S.A." on the right. Above the propeller hub, a downward-pointing triangular field holds a cluster of stars, complemented by an arc of five stars beneath the tail structure at the base of the design.

The iconic Propeller graphic was utilized across multiple container styles and contracted breweries during the era, resulting in variations that feature differing brewery mandatories, can formats, and tax statements. Jacob Ruppert's New York edition stands as an enduring piece of wartime and mid-century brewing history.
