Best All Grain Beer Flat Top Can

Best All Grain Beer Can Overview

Produced by the Best Brewing Company of Chicago, Illinois, the Best All Grain Beer flat top is an iconic representative of mid-century Midwestern brewing history. Operating out of their facility on Fletcher Street in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, the brewery—originally established by the Hasterlik family—was well known for its packaging innovations and regional distribution network.

Design and Branding

The label features bold, clean mid-century typography centered on the prominent "Best" brand identity, complemented by the standout "All Grain" banner. The graphic presentation was designed to convey quality and traditional brewing standards directly on store shelves. The lithographed steel body utilizes clean contrasting colors and balanced branding across the face.

Manufacturing and Variations

Manufactured during the era of three-piece soldered steel containers, the can was distributed across regional Midwestern markets. Variations of this can exist among collectors, with differences typically found in mandatory brewery phrasing, manufacturer marks, and subtle changes in text placement across production batches.

Breweriana Significance

As the Chicago brewing landscape began consolidating, independent regional breweries like Best Brewing Company produced localized label designs that capture the character of mid-century industrial Chicago. Today, the Best All Grain can is a favored piece for collectors specializing in Illinois brewing heritage and classic mid-century graphic design.
