Beverwyck Breweries, Inc., based in Albany, New York, packaged its flagship cream ale in cone top cans manufactured by the Continental Can Company. Beverwyck was among the earliest American breweries to adopt Continental's "Cap-Sealed" container format.

The label is recognized for its Irish-themed iconography, centering on a prominent green clover emblem flanked by bold lettering against cream and metallic accents. As the flagship product for the Albany brewery, this can remains a recognized centerpiece of regional breweriana.

Several variations of this can exist among collectors. These include wording changes such as "Irish Brand" versus "Irish Type" around the clover, differences in the placement of legal and brewery text, Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) markings, and manufacturing indicators such as "MADE IN USA" stamps.

Beverwyck was one of Albany's surviving post-Prohibition breweries, and this container represents an important era of upstate New York brewing prior to the company's eventual acquisition by the F. & M. Schaefer Brewing Company.
