This specific can serves as an interim package resulting from Manhattan Brewing Company's acquisition of the A.B.C. Brewing Corporation of St. Louis, Missouri. Rather than delaying distribution until newly minted container bodies could be fully manufactured, Manhattan utilized existing stock and modified the lithography to meet regulatory requirements.

To update the mandatory brewery designations, specific sections of the artwork were overprinted with solid black blocking. A blackened box at the top of the main face panel covers the original "St. Louis" location marking, while obscured areas on the side panel cover legal text referencing the former A.B.C. Brewing Company. Overprinted verbiage confirms the contents were brewed and packed by Manhattan Brewing Company in Chicago.
