Black Dallas Malt Liquor 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Pueblo's Black Dallas Malt Liquor

The Black Dallas Malt Liquor 12 Oz Tab Top Can is a notable piece of regional brewing history from the Walter Brewing Company of Pueblo, Colorado. Renowned among breweriana enthusiasts, Walter Brewing Company produced a wide array of proprietary and contracted labels, with Black Dallas standing out for its distinctive branding and the evocative slogan, "Smooth as Evening Dusk".

Among can collectors, the Walter Brewing Company holds a legendary reputation from the peak hobby boom of the twentieth century. The Pueblo brewery was famously generous to collectors who wrote letters requesting specimens, frequently mailing back pristine, factory air-sealed cans directly from the canning line. Because of this direct-to-collector distribution, well-preserved examples from Walter's diverse portfolio—including Black Dallas—circulated widely among regional and national collector networks.

Manufactured primarily through major packaging partners like the Continental Can Company, variations of the Black Dallas can exist across different production runs. These variations feature subtle differences in mandatory text, brewery name configurations, and label layout adjustments, making the label a staple focus for collectors dedicated to Colorado brewing heritage and classic malt liquor branding.
