Black Dallas Malt Liquor Flat Top Can

Black Dallas Malt Liquor Can

The Black Dallas Malt Liquor flat top can, produced by The Walter Brewing Company in Pueblo, Colorado, holds a prominent place among Western breweriana collectibles. Emblazoned with the memorable slogan "Smooth as Evening Dusk," the container features an eye-catching graphic scheme composed of deep black, vibrant blue, and metallic silver.

The Black Dallas brand carries a storied lineage across American brewing. Prior to its run at Walter Brewing Company, the label was utilized by other regional operations, including Manhattan Brewing Company and Leisy Brewing. Walter's production brought the brand to the Mountain West market, canned in standard 12-ounce containers manufactured by the Continental Can Company.

Among breweriana enthusiasts, known variations of this flat top exist across print runs, with differences found in legal text, manufacturer markings, and panel layouts. As independent regional breweries gradually ceased operations, packaging from Walter's historic Pueblo plant has become a sought-after staple for specialized malt liquor and Colorado shelf displays.
