Blatz Milwaukee's Finest Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Heileman Blatz 16 Oz Pint Can

The Blatz Milwaukee's Finest Beer 16-ounce tab top can produced under the Blatz Division of G. Heileman Brewing Company in La Crosse, Wisconsin, highlights an important period of corporate transition in American brewing history.

Originally established in Milwaukee by Valentin Blatz, the brand was a long-standing cornerstone of Wisconsin brewing. Following federal antitrust actions that required Pabst Brewing Company to divest the Blatz label, the G. Heileman Brewing Company acquired the brand and brought it into its expanding multi-plant network, centering core production at its primary La Crosse facility.

This one-pint container features the traditional Blatz graphic identity, anchored by the signature triangular emblem and prominent "Milwaukee's Finest Beer" script. The mandatory text identifies the "Blatz Div. of G. Heileman" in La Crosse, Wisconsin, capturing the era when the classic Milwaukee label was produced along the Mississippi River at Heileman's headquarters.

For breweriana collectors specializing in one-pint containers and brewery consolidation history, this can serves as tangible documentation of Heileman's mid-twentieth-century growth. Variations exist across different canning runs and packaging manufacturer marks, offering interesting points of comparison for regional brewery displays.
