Bohemian Club Light Export Lager Beer Cone Top Can

Spokane's Bohemian Club Cone Top

The Bohemian Club Light Export Lager cone top can represents an important chapter in Pacific Northwest brewing history, produced by Bohemian Breweries Inc. in Spokane, Washington. Founded originally as the Inland Brewing & Malting Company by John G. F. Hieber at Second Avenue and Cedar Street, the operation adopted the Bohemian name following the repeal of Prohibition. Under the direction of brewmaster Robert Muzatko, who imported Bohemian hop roots and barley strains to establish the brewery's recipes, Bohemian Breweries grew into one of eastern Washington's major regional operations.

Bohemian Club was the flagship label for the Spokane plant. The graphic presentation of this Light Export Lager cone top reflects mid-century Northwest breweriana styling, centered around bold typography, contrasting color fields, and distinctive branding. Manufactured in standard 12-ounce high-profile cone specifications, these cans were distributed across Washington, northern Idaho, and surrounding inland markets.

For breweriana collectors, Bohemian Club cone tops are notable due to multiple manufacturing runs and regional plant distributions. Because Bohemian Breweries also maintained a facility in Boise, Idaho, cans exist with differing city and mandatory plant designations. Known variations showcase differences in mandatory tax-paid statements, brewery corporate text, and minor layout adjustments on the front and side panels.

As regional consolidation intensified throughout the brewing industry, Bohemian Breweries eventually became the final operational brewery in Spokane before its closure. Today, the Bohemian Club Light Export Lager cone top stands as a prized artifact of the city's historic brewing heritage.
