Production Background

During the mid-century era of contract brewing, established regional breweries like Horlacher utilized alternative trade names—including Old Dutch Brewing Co.—to produce and package a variety of economy and private labels. Bonanza Premium Beer served as one of these regionally distributed labels intended for budget-conscious consumers across the East Coast.

Can Graphics and Variations

The steel can features classic Western-style "Bonanza" typography accented by traditional brewing insignia and mandatory brewery text designating Old Dutch Brewing Co., Allentown, PA. The primary branding is mirrored on both sides of the can body.

Variations of the Bonanza label exist across different regional packaging facilities, notably including versions canned by contract operations in New Jersey. These variants differ primarily in their canning line markings, mandatory brewery credits, and minor graphic alignments, making the Allentown iteration a noteworthy piece for Pennsylvania breweriana collectors.
