Buckeye Pilsener Type Beer Cone Top Can

Buckeye Pilsener Type Cone Top

The Buckeye Pilsener Type Beer cone top can represents a notable piece of Midwestern breweriana produced by the Buckeye Brewing Company of Toledo, Ohio. Buckeye Brewing was one of Ohio's longest-running breweries, tracing its origins back to 1838 and remaining a central fixture of the Toledo industrial and brewing landscape for generations.

Graphic Design and Markings

The can features the bold Buckeye brand script prominently across the front label, accompanied by the traditional "Pilsener Type Beer" designation. The graphics reflect the classic mid-century midwestern styling characteristic of the Toledo brewery's packaging, framed with clean line borders and the official company naming of The Buckeye Brewing Co., Toledo, Ohio.

Variations and Collecting Context

For breweriana collectors, variations exist among surviving examples, particularly with respect to regulatory markings such as the "Internal Revenue Tax Paid" (IRTP) mandatory statement and subtle changes in brewery text formatting across different print batches. Because Buckeye Brewing was the premier brewery in Toledo that survived Prohibition and endured into the post-war era, this can is a core target for collectors specializing in Ohio breweriana and regional beer history.
