Buckhorn Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Lone Star Buckhorn Beer Can

The Buckhorn Beer 12 oz tab top can holds a notable place in Texas breweriana history, produced by the Lone Star Brewing Company of San Antonio, Texas. The brand directly connects to the historic Buckhorn Saloon, an iconic San Antonio institution famed for its extensive collection of animal horns, trophy mounts, and Western memorabilia. Lone Star acquired the Buckhorn Saloon collection and established the Buckhorn Hall of Horns on its San Antonio brewery grounds, turning the brand and its hospitality center into a premier tourist destination.

The can's graphic design reflects this heritage, featuring antler and trophy imagery alongside bold typography referencing the world-famous saloon. Throughout its run, Lone Star released multiple variations of the can. These variations display subtle differences in the Lone Star mandatory text, the presence or absence of the "Union Made" insignia, minor changes in graphic borders, and differing can body compositions such as crimped steel and aluminum.

As a regional product tied directly to the legacy of San Antonio's brewing landscape and the Lone Star hospitality complex, the Buckhorn tab top remains a recognized piece of Texas beverage history.
