Buckhorn Premium Lager Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Buckhorn Lager St. Paul Can

Produced by the Theo. Hamm Brewing Company out of St. Paul, Minnesota, the Buckhorn Premium Lager Beer can is a notable piece of Midwestern breweriana. While Hamm's was widely known for its flagship label and Northwoods marketing, the brewery introduced Buckhorn as an accessible companion brand designed to broaden its reach across regional markets.

Graphic Design and Aesthetics

The visual presentation centers on bold wildlife iconography, highlighted by the prominent illustration of an antlered buck head. Framed by strong typography and metallic accents, the label was designed for instant shelf recognition while reflecting the rugged outdoor theme closely associated with the brewery's Minnesota identity.

Collector Significance and Variations

Cans bearing the Theodore Hamm St. Paul mandatory text represent the core operations of the historic brewery established along Phalen Creek. Throughout its production runs, the container was sourced from various can manufacturers. Known variations display subtle differences in side-panel mandatory text layouts, typography weights, rim finishes, and canning metal compositions.

Buckhorn remains a sought-after staple among breweriana collectors dedicated to Upper Midwest brewing history and the legacy of Theo. Hamm packaging.
