Budweiser 1948 20th Reunion Can

Budweiser 1948 20th Reunion Can

Produced by Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis, Missouri, this commemorative can was specially commissioned for the twentieth reunion celebration of Princeton University's Class of 1948. Princeton reunions maintain a storied reputation within breweriana history for their tradition of distributing custom-labeled cans directly to returning alumni during the multi-day campus festivities and the traditional alumni parade.

Rather than appearing on commercial retail shelves, these cans were supplied directly to reunion tents, headquarters, and class banquets. Because distribution was restricted to private alumni gatherings, surviving specimens were preserved almost entirely by attendees who saved them as event souvenirs.

The can features traditional Budweiser lithography combined with dedicated commemorative text honoring the class's milestone gathering. Variations are known to exist among these collegiate issues, displaying subtle differences in text formatting, manufacturer markings, and mandatory brewery statements. The piece remains a celebrated crossover collectible uniting Ivy League tradition with vintage breweriana.
