Budweiser Lager Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Budweiser Los Angeles Tab Top Can

Produced by Anheuser-Busch at its Los Angeles, California packaging facility, this 12-ounce container represents a key chapter in West Coast packaging for America's flagship lager.

The Los Angeles brewery, situated in the San Fernando Valley district of Van Nuys, served as a primary West Coast production hub for Anheuser-Busch. Beyond its packaging lines, the facility gained widespread fame for hosting the adjacent Busch Gardens theme park, where visitors enjoyed tropical gardens, boat rides, and monorail tours traveling directly through the brewery's canning and shipping operations. Cans bearing the Los Angeles mandatory designation reflect this major regional manufacturing footprint.

The exterior design showcases the traditional Anheuser-Busch lithography, centered on the classic red, white, and blue label. The front prominently displays the intertwined "A and Eagle" trademark emblem, surrounded by the signature Budweiser script and the historic beechwood aging guarantee text. Framing the central medallion are vertical "GENUINE" banners alongside the mandatory breweriana plant text identifying canning operations in Los Angeles.

Among breweriana collectors, cans tied to the Los Angeles plant are actively cataloged for their textual and manufacturing details. Variations exist in the composition of mandatory city listings, reflecting different periods of Anheuser-Busch's national expansion and regional plant arrangements. Collectors also study production marks left by different packaging suppliers, variations in seam construction, and insignias stamped directly onto the pull mechanism itself. These graphic and manufacturing details make the Los Angeles tab top can a staple for West Coast breweriana enthusiasts.
