Budweiser Lager Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Jacksonville Budweiser 12 Oz Can

The Budweiser Lager Beer 12 oz tab top can produced under the Anheuser-Busch banner at the Jacksonville, Florida facility represents a notable era of regional packaging expansion. Following the establishment of the Jacksonville brewery to supply growing markets across Florida and the Southeast, the location was integrated into the company's canning operations, marking an important development for breweriana collectors tracking geographic plant designations.

Label Design and Visual Layout

The can showcases the classic Budweiser red, white, and blue label aesthetic. Prominently displayed on the main panel is the Anheuser-Busch "A and Eagle" trademark crest, flanked by intricate scrollwork and the signature Budweiser narrative guarantee script. The iconic brand lettering anchors the front face, maintaining the visual standard established for the flagship American lager.

Mandatory Markings and Variations

A primary area of focus for collectors is the mandatory brewery text found along the side panels. As Anheuser-Busch expanded its brewing footprint, mandatory statements listed Jacksonville alongside other flagship brewing hubs such as St. Louis, Newark, Los Angeles, and Tampa.

Variations exist across different production runs, featuring differences in the arrangement of the brewery city list, varying typography weights, and subtle shifts in mandatory panel layouts. Additional variations can be identified through differing can manufacturer stamps—including marks from suppliers such as American Can Company and Continental Can Company—as well as minor differences in seam construction and lid stamping.

Regional Importance

The Jacksonville plant served as a high-volume distribution anchor for standard twelve-ounce packaging throughout the Southeastern United States. Cans bearing the Jacksonville designation document the mid-century geographic growth of Anheuser-Busch and remain key reference pieces for enthusiasts specializing in Florida breweriana and macrobrewery history.
