Budweiser Lager Beer 14 Oz Tab Top Can

Budweiser 14 Oz Jacksonville Tab

Produced under the Anheuser-Busch banner with the Jacksonville, Florida packaging location, this Budweiser Lager Beer can is a notable entry in American breweriana due to its non-standard 14-ounce capacity.

Regional Packaging Context

While 12-ounce containers and 16-ounce tallboys dominated nationwide store shelves, the 14-ounce capacity emerged primarily as a regional marketing strategy in the Southeastern United States. Brewers utilized this intermediate volume to offer consumers extra volume at competitive price points tailored to regional retail conditions. Because the Jacksonville facility was positioned to supply expanding Southeastern distribution channels, it served as a primary canning hub for these regional capacity runs.

Design and Collector Significance

The can features the iconic Budweiser label adapted to the elongated proportions of a 14-ounce cylinder. The classic red, white, and blue motif incorporates the traditional Anheuser-Busch eagle and shield crest, the iconic script lettering, and the brewery's signature trademark guarantee text.

Among breweriana collectors, odd-sized containers such as 14-ounce cans are especially sought after because of their localized distribution and shorter overall production lifespans relative to standard formats. Known variations exist across production runs, featuring differences in factory canning codes, seam construction, and side-panel mandatory text layouts alongside the Jacksonville designation.
