Budweiser Lager Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Budweiser Los Angeles Pint Can

Produced by Anheuser-Busch at its Los Angeles, California packaging facility, this 16-ounce pint container represents a notable chapter in the packaging history of America's flagship lager. While standard 12-ounce containers accounted for the vast majority of retail volume, the 16-ounce pint format was produced in smaller quantities to cater to sporting venues, concessionaires, and consumers seeking larger individual servings.

The Los Angeles Brewery Connection

The Los Angeles facility, situated in the San Fernando Valley's Van Nuys district, served as a primary West Coast production hub for Anheuser-Busch. Beyond its brewing and packaging operations supplying California and neighboring Pacific states, the site was widely known for housing the adjacent Busch Gardens theme park, a popular attraction featuring tropical landscapes and exotic birds. Cans bearing the Los Angeles mandatory designation directly reflect this regional packaging footprint.

Design and Collector Significance

The can displays the traditional Anheuser-Busch brand design:

• The familiar red, white, and blue label motif.
• The historic "A&Eagle" trademark crest and Budweiser script.
• The guarantee creed highlighting the beechwood aging process.
• Mandatory plant listings identifying the Los Angeles location.

Among breweriana collectors, 16-ounce Budweiser cans from regional facilities hold strong appeal due to their lower production volumes compared to regular 12-ounce releases. West Coast specialists actively document variations in mandatory plant listings, multi-city text configurations, and graphic alignments across different packaging runs.
