Budweiser Lager Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Los Angeles 16 Oz Budweiser Can

Produced at the Anheuser-Busch facility in Los Angeles, California, this 16-ounce pint container holds a notable place in breweriana collections. While standard 12-ounce cans represented the vast majority of retail packaging, the 16-ounce "tall boy" format was distributed in smaller quantities to cater to sporting venues, concessionaires, and consumers seeking a larger single serving.

The Los Angeles Facility

The Los Angeles packaging plant, situated in the San Fernando Valley, served as the primary West Coast hub for Anheuser-Busch. In addition to its high-volume brewing operations, the location was widely recognized for hosting the adjacent Busch Gardens theme park. Cans bearing the Los Angeles plant designation were distributed across California and neighboring Pacific states.

Label Graphics & Design

The can displays classic Budweiser label architecture:

• The traditional red, white, and blue color scheme centered across the body.
• The Anheuser-Busch "A&Eagle" trademark embedded within the central crest.
• The recognized Budweiser script and "King of Beers" slogan.
• The guarantee creed detailing the beechwood aging process.
• Mandatory side-panel text identifying the Los Angeles, California packaging facility.

Collector Significance

Among breweriana enthusiasts, 16-ounce Budweiser cans from regional facilities remain popular additions to collections due to their lower production volume compared to standard 12-ounce counterparts. West Coast specialists actively track variations across production runs, documenting shifts in mandatory plant lists, side-panel text arrangements, and graphic layouts.
