Budweiser Lager Beer Pint Can

Budweiser's Classic Pint Can

The Budweiser Lager Beer Pint Can represents a key milestone in Anheuser-Busch's mid-century packaging history. As consumer demand grew for larger serving sizes suited for taverns, sporting events, and social gatherings, the St. Louis brewing titan adapted its flagship brand to the 16-ounce format, marketing the oversized cans under banners such as "Half Quart" and "Big Size".

The design translates Budweiser's intricate label artwork onto the taller metal canvas, prominently featuring the Anheuser-Busch "A and Eagle" trademark, heraldic crests, and the traditional guarantee script across the classic red, white, and blue color palette.

For breweriana collectors, the pint can serves as a historical record of Anheuser-Busch's post-war national expansion. As the company established new brewing facilities across the country, mandatory legal text on the cans evolved to reflect the growing network of facilities. Known variations feature different city combinations, including St. Louis, Newark, Los Angeles, and Tampa. Further variations exist with alternating promotional text callouts and differing manufacturer markings from the American Can Company, making this pint can a staple of mid-century American brewing history.
