Budweiser Lager Beer Pint Can

Budweiser Lager Beer Pint Can

The Budweiser Lager Beer Pint Can represents a notable chapter in Anheuser-Busch's mid-century packaging history. To accommodate consumer demand for larger single-serving containers popular in taverns and social gatherings, the St. Louis brewing giant expanded its packaging lineup with the 16-ounce format, often marketed under slogans such as "Half Quart" or "Big Size".

The pint container allowed the brewery to scale up its intricate label graphics onto a taller metal canvas. The artwork features the classic red, white, and blue motif, anchored by the Anheuser-Busch "A and Eagle" insignia, detailed heraldic crests, and the traditional Budweiser guarantee script.

For collectors, these pint cans offer a tangible record of Anheuser-Busch's post-war national expansion. As the company established regional breweries across the country, the mandatory legal text on the can evolved to document the growing network of facilities. Known variations include different combinations of brewing cities, such as St. Louis, Newark, Los Angeles, Tampa, and Houston, reflecting shifts in distribution logistics over time. Additional variations showcase alternating factory manufacturer markings from the American Can Company, as well as distinct state-specific tax lid stampings.
