Burger Finest Quality Cone Top

The Burger Finest Quality Beer cone top represents an iconic piece of Midwestern breweriana from the Burger Brewing Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. Originally established as a malting firm by German immigrants Charles and Louis Burger, the company transitioned to commercial brewing following the repeal of Prohibition and rapidly grew into one of the Queen City's quintessential regional breweries.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, this design prominently displays the classic Burger script framed alongside the "Finest Quality" designation. The graphics showcase the bold mid-century aesthetic that defined Burger's packaging during its peak market presence.

Collectors recognize several variations of this can, reflecting changes in regulatory requirements and manufacturing runs. Notable differences among known examples include variations in profile height, adjustments to the brewery descriptor text, and the presence or absence of the Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) statement. Some versions also feature subtle shifts in label phrasing, such as text flanking the central emblem.

Burger Brewing maintained a massive presence in Ohio sports culture, famously sponsoring Cincinnati Reds radio broadcasts with Hall of Fame broadcaster Waite Hoyt. As a staple of Cincinnati brewing heritage, the Burger Finest Quality cone top remains a sought-after piece for regional and container collectors alike.
