Burkhardt's Diamond Jubilee Beer Flat Top Can

Burkhardt Diamond Jubilee Beer

The Burkhardt's Diamond Jubilee Beer flat top can was issued by the Burkhardt Brewing Company of Akron, Ohio, to commemorate the brewery's 75th anniversary milestone. Operating from Grant Street in Akron, Burkhardt was one of the city's longest-running and most prominent brewing establishments, having survived Prohibition through diversification before returning to commercial brewing operations.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, the container showcases commemorative mid-century graphic design. The label highlights the "Diamond Jubilee" designation alongside the Burkhardt name, created to celebrate the firm's multi-decade heritage in northeastern Ohio.

Among breweriana collectors, the can is recognized as an important artifact from Akron's industrial brewing era. Variations are known to exist among surviving examples, including cans bearing state tax lid stamps, such as Ohio tax lids. Because the Burkhardt Brewing Company was acquired by Cincinnati-based Burger Brewing Company in the mid-1950s, this celebratory can marks one of the final major label releases produced under the original Burkhardt stewardship in Akron.
