Busch Bavarian Beer Pint Can

Busch Bavarian Pint Overview

Introduced by Anheuser-Busch of St. Louis, Missouri, Busch Bavarian Beer marked a significant milestone for the brewing giant as its first major post-Prohibition brand rollout aimed at the popular-priced market. Named after brewery co-founder Adolphus Busch, the brand quickly established a widespread national presence.

Design and Visual Appeal

The 16-ounce pint format—often labeled as a "Half Quart" or "Full Pint"—provided an expanded canvas compared to standard 12-ounce releases. The label artwork is centered around the signature alpine theme, featuring snow-capped mountain peaks set against crisp white and deep blue backdrops alongside the traditional Anheuser-Busch crest. The larger cylinder allowed the mountain range scenery and prominent brand typography to stand out prominently on store shelves and in collector displays.

Known Variations

For breweriana enthusiasts, this pint can presents several documented variations. Because Anheuser-Busch operated multiple facilities across the country, differences appear in the mandatory brewery plant listings along the seam. Depending on the canning run, location text may list cities such as St. Louis, Newark, Los Angeles, Tampa, and others. Additional variations exist in side-seam construction, mandatory legal statement formatting, and minor adjustments to the Bavarian banner artwork across different production facilities.
