Cascade Beer Flat Top Can

Cascade Beer Flat Top Can

Produced by the historic Blitz-Weinhard Brewing Company of Portland, Oregon, the Cascade Beer flat top can represents a defining era of Pacific Northwest regional brewing. Blitz-Weinhard, whose roots trace back to pioneer brewer Henry Weinhard in the mid-nineteenth century, developed Cascade Beer as a localized brand tailored to Northwest consumers.

The can is celebrated among breweriana enthusiasts for its striking graphic identity centered around Pacific Northwest imagery. Featuring artwork inspired by the snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Mountain Range, the design pairs bold typography with scenic mountain silhouettes. This visual presentation reinforced Blitz-Weinhard's deep connection to the geography and culture of Oregon and Washington.

In collector circles, the Cascade Beer flat top is particularly notable for its volume formats. In addition to standard sizes, the can was distributed in the regional eleven-ounce size that was widely favored across the Pacific Northwest market. Several variations of the can exist, with differences in can manufacturer stamps, canning codes, mandatory text layouts, and volume indicators across production runs.

Originating from the legendary multi-block brewery on Portland's Burnside Street, this can remains a treasured piece of breweriana that documents the legacy of one of the West Coast's most influential independent brewing operations.
