Champagne Velvet Br Prem. Pils Beer Flat Top Can

Terre Haute's Flagship Pilsener Can

The Champagne Velvet Brand Premium Pilsener Beer flat top represents the flagship offering of the Terre Haute Brewing Company of Terre Haute, Indiana. During its operational peak, the Terre Haute facility stood among the largest breweries in the United States, driven primarily by the widespread regional popularity of the Champagne Velvet label.

The can features the recognizable Champagne Velvet cursive branding alongside the "Brand Premium Pilsener Beer" designation. Champagne Velvet was widely recognized in advertising for its slogan, "The Beer with the Million Dollar Flavor". This was rooted in an actual marketing campaign where the brewery insured the proprietary recipe under a one-million-dollar insurance policy, creating one of the era's most memorable promotional narratives.

For collectors of Midwestern breweriana, this flat top can holds significant historical value due to its direct ties to Indiana's industrial brewing era. Terre Haute Brewing Company released multiple variations of the design across different production runs, resulting in differences in color palettes, mandatory legal text, and banding arrangements. Following mid-century national brewing industry consolidation, the original Terre Haute plant shuttered, leaving original brewery-issued cans as preserved artifacts of Indiana's commercial brewing past.
