Colt 45 Stout Malt Liquor 12 Oz Bank Can

Colt 45 Stout Phoenix Bank Can

The Colt 45 Stout Malt Liquor 12 oz bank can represents a notable chapter in breweriana from the Carling National Breweries plant in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally established as the Arizona Brewing Company before being acquired by National Brewing and later operating under the Carling National banner, the Phoenix facility served as a major packaging and distribution hub for the Southwest.

The "Stout Malt Liquor" branding distinguished this release from the standard national Colt 45 label, primarily circulating within Western distribution networks. The can design prominently features the trademark kicking horse and horseshoe emblem long associated with the brand.

Among breweriana collectors, this Phoenix-issued bank can is particularly recognized for its regional sports promotions. The brewery utilized these cans to feature schedules and commemorative artwork for the Phoenix Suns basketball franchise during the mid-1970s, turning the container into a crossover collectible for both can historians and NBA fans.

Collectors track several graphic and text variations originating from the Phoenix plant, reflecting changes in corporate ownership typography, mandatory state labeling updates, and varying promotional team schedules across production runs.
