Copper Club Pilsner Beer Cone Top Can

Copper Club Pilsner Overview

The Copper Club Pilsner Beer Cone Top Can was issued by the Copper Country Brewing Company of Hancock, Michigan, situated in the historic copper mining region of the Upper Peninsula known as the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Design and Regional Heritage

The graphic design pays homage to the local heritage with a metallic copper-toned background complemented by white and green lettering and accents. The central emblem prominently displays the "Copper Club" script alongside the "Pilsner Beer" designation and mentions of pure spring water. Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, the container exemplifies the high-profile cone top format popular among regional packaging facilities.

Variations and Collector Significance

Among breweriana collectors, the Copper Club cone top is celebrated as a classic artifact of Upper Peninsula brewing history. Multiple variations exist across production runs, including versions produced with Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) tax statements as well as later non-IRTP versions. Other notable variations feature differences in mandatory brewery notices and alcohol content statements tailored for specific regional markets. Because local Upper Peninsula breweries distributed across limited territories, containers from Copper Country Brewing Company represent a distinct chapter in Michigan's industrial canning legacy.
