Country Club Stout Malt Liquor 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Country Club Stout Malt Liquor Can

The Country Club Stout Malt Liquor 12 oz tab top can is an important piece of mid-century brewing history produced by the Pearl Brewing Company in San Antonio, Texas. The Country Club brand originated with the M.K. Goetz Brewing Company of St. Joseph, Missouri, which revolutionized the American market by introducing Country Club as one of the country's first commercially successful malt liquors. After Pearl Brewing Company acquired Goetz in 1961, Pearl integrated the powerhouse brand into its primary operations, expanding packaging and canning lines directly out of its flagship San Antonio brewery.

This specific 12-ounce container features the distinctive "Stout Malt Liquor" moniker, paired with the iconic "XXX" insignia prominently displayed in the brand's identity. The triple-X emblem was a historic hallmark associated with premium quality designations rooted in old-world brewing tradition. Labeling for this release typically carries Pearl Brewing Co. mandatories referencing San Antonio, Texas, alongside the St. Joseph plant location.

Among breweriana enthusiasts, this can is recognized for several design variations. Cans from different manufacturing runs display slight differences in mandatory text formatting, metallic ink shades, and state-mandated alcohol content declarations required for regional distribution. Its place at the intersection of Goetz's pioneering recipe and Pearl's aggressive southern brewing expansion makes it a standout artifact of regional American beverage packaging.
