Country Club Stout Malt Liquor 8 Oz Tab Top Can

Country Club 8 Oz Malt Liquor

The Country Club Stout Malt Liquor 8 oz can represents an important chapter in Midwestern brewing history, tied directly to the legacy of the historic M. K. Goetz facility in St. Joseph, Missouri under the ownership of the Pearl Brewing Company.

M. K. Goetz Brewing Company originally launched the Country Club brand in the early 1950s, establishing one of the earliest and most widely distributed malt liquors in the United States. Following Pearl Brewing Company's acquisition of Goetz, Pearl maintained operations at the St. Joseph plant, continuing to produce and can the Country Club line. The 8-ounce portion size offered a smaller alternative to traditional 12-ounce packages, serving as a distinct format within retail markets.

The graphic presentation highlights the "Stout Malt Liquor" labeling across the body, complemented by Country Club's familiar crest and classic color scheme. The mandatory text notes brewing and canning by Pearl Brewing Co. in St. Joseph, Missouri, tying the container directly to the transitional era of the St. Joseph facility.

Known variations exist among manufacturing runs, differing in subtle mandatory text arrangements, plant credit lines, and can maker marks. Because smaller 8-ounce cans typically saw lower overall production volume than standard cans, this example remains a sought-after piece among collectors of malt liquor breweriana and Missouri brewing history.
