Drewrys Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Drewrys Chicago 16 Oz Pint Can

The Drewrys Beer 16 oz tab top can produced for Drewrys Ltd. in Chicago, Illinois, represents a notable chapter in Midwestern brewing history. Originally established in Canada in 1877, the Drewrys brand established a major footprint in the United States following the repeal of Prohibition, serving as a primary regional staple across the Great Lakes.

This one-pint container features the traditional Drewrys heraldic crest alongside the classic slogan, "A Famous Name Since 1877." The bold, clean label design reflects mid-century branding strategies developed to catch consumer attention on store shelves as larger package sizes gained popularity in regional markets.

Collectors recognize variations among the Chicago-designated cans, typically involving subtle differences in mandatory text placement, font weight, color saturation, and manufacturer hallmarks from fabricators such as the National Can Company and Continental Can Company. The 16 oz format remains a key focus for regional breweriana enthusiasts documenting Drewrys' midwestern distribution footprint.
