Drewrys Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Drewrys 16 Oz Evansville Can

The Drewrys Beer 16-ounce tab top can produced under G. Heileman in Evansville, Indiana, represents a notable chapter in Midwestern brewing history. Originally founded in Canada before establishing a major American presence, Drewrys grew into a household name throughout the Great Lakes region.

Following the acquisition of Associated Brewing Company by the G. Heileman Brewing Company, production of Drewrys shifted into Heileman's network of regional facilities, prominently including the Evansville plant. This pint-sized container catered to the value-conscious market segment, featuring the established Drewrys crest, traditional bold typography, and the G. Heileman Evansville mandatory brewery statement.

For breweriana enthusiasts, this can illustrates a period of consolidation among historic regional brands. Collectors document variations across production runs, noting differences in can manufacturer marks, bottom lid profiles, and side-panel mandatory text. These variations reflect the shifting canning suppliers and packaging updates utilized at the Evansville facility under Heileman's stewardship.
