Drewrys Extra Dry Beer Flat Top Can

Drewrys "Your Character" Series Can

During the mid-1950s, Drewry's Ltd., U.S.A., Inc. of South Bend, Indiana launched a succession of themed multi-can packaging concepts intended to boost retail shelf appeal and spark lively conversation at social gatherings. Among these interactive concepts was the "Your Character and your face" series, which introduced lighthearted character analyses grounded in popular physiognomy themes.

This container highlights a rich blue vertical panel titled YOUR CHARACTER and your face dedicated specifically to the Oval Face. The panel displays minimalist white line illustrations of both a female and male face set against a dashed circular motif. Below the artwork, printed text offers an upbeat breakdown of associated personality traits, noting that an oval face signifies "a well-balanced personality of keen wit." It continues with positive assessments, observing that while individuals with this facial profile may appear detached from commercial business matters, they possess fine perceptive abilities, a responsive nature, and a tendency toward musical inclination.

Drewry's incorporated various facial profiles and color variations across this promotional campaign, offering consumers an amusing party-piece gimmick alongside their Extra Dry Beer.
