Du Bois Premium Quality Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Du Bois Premium Quality Beer Can

The Du Bois Premium Quality Beer 12 oz tab top can represents a notable chapter in Pennsylvania breweriana, tracing the lineage of the historic DuBois brewing legacy into its era of production in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The DuBois brand, originally founded by Frank Hahne in DuBois, Pennsylvania, built a dedicated following over decades of regional brewing before production of the brand label shifted to Pittsburgh under the Pittsburgh Brewing Company.

During its production runs in Pittsburgh, the can design maintained a classic aesthetic that paid homage to its heritage. The label graphics feature bold typography, metallic banding, and traditional crest imagery highlighting the "Premium Quality" moniker. These straight steel cans were distributed throughout Pennsylvania and neighboring markets, keeping a storied regional trade name active on retail shelves.

For breweriana collectors, the can serves as a tangible record of late-twentieth-century American brewery consolidation and regional brand preservation. Known variations exist among surviving specimens, featuring subtle differences in mandatory text layout, canning facility codes, and minor lithograph detailing across production batches.
