Dutch Lunch Premium Beer Flat Top Can

Grace Bros. Dutch Lunch Premium Can

Produced by the Grace Bros. Brewing Company of Santa Rosa, California, this flat top can represents one of the northern California brewery's most recognizable and enduring labels. Grace Bros. operated as an important regional brewing hub in Sonoma County, packaging a diverse lineup of house brands and contract labels distributed across the West Coast.

Design and Features

The label artwork centers around an Old World tavern and Dutch landscape motif. The focal illustration presents a still-life arrangement featuring an ornate ceramic beer stein alongside a platter of sliced sausage and cheese resting on a red-and-white checkered tablecloth. In the background, an open window looks out toward traditional windmills under a soft sky.

The brand name is displayed across the upper red banner in Gothic-style blackletter lettering, while the lower banner designates the brew as "PREMIUM LAGER BEER." Brewery mandatory text identifying Grace Bros. Brewing Co. of Santa Rosa runs vertically along the side margin. This specific version is distinguished by the placement of the volume statement—"NET CONTENTS 12 FLUID OUNCES"—printed along the bottom rim of the can face.

Variations

Dutch Lunch was canned in several variations over the course of its production run. Collectors differentiate these runs by subtle design shifts, including mandatory text arrangements, background color shading, changes in tax-paid notices, and the placement of the volume statement.
