Edelweiss Light Beer 16 Oz Tab Top Can

Edelweiss 16 Oz Drewrys Can

The Edelweiss Light Beer 16-ounce tab top can represents a notable chapter in Midwestern brewing history, packaged under the Drewrys Ltd. name in South Bend, Indiana. The Edelweiss brand originally rose to prominence in Chicago with the Schoenhofen Brewing Company. Following Drewrys' acquisition of Schoenhofen Edelweiss, the historic label was maintained and produced from Drewrys' main South Bend facilities.

The 16-ounce pint format provided an expanded canvas for the classic Edelweiss insignia, featuring the brand's traditional typography and heraldic crest adapted for the taller can size. Drewrys utilized the one-pint size to appeal to regional consumers seeking larger package options alongside standard twelve-ounce offerings.

For collectors, known variations exist across production runs. These differences typically appear in the manufacturer marks from various can makers, fine-print legal statements, and minor layout adjustments on the side panels.
